The six-pointed star with with "Jude" written upon it seen on the escaping Jewish grocer at the beginning of the film was not mandated for Jews within Germany until September 1, 1941 - roughly four years after the time of this film. Jews in concentration camps at this time wore a single yellow inverted triangle, and often had another upright triangle sewn over it to indicate another reason for their incarceration.
