At the 18:00 mark, Mr. Dawson's boat passes a Naval ship, which is safely heading back to Britain, with "036" painted on the hull. This ship is British destroyer Vivacious (DD 036). At the 30:00 mark, the men from the mole are being ferried out to a ship with 036 painted on its hull. However this ship is soon sunk by a torpedo, making it impossible to be the same 036 ship that Mr. Dawson passes on his journey across the channel.
