When Jonah first speaks to Dr. Marsha, she comments that he's young to be up so late. Jonah explains that it's not that late in Seattle. When Sam hangs up the phone after the call, the sky outside the window looks like it's just after sunset. In early December, sunset in Seattle happens at 4:18pm. That means the call ended around 6:30pm Central Time (Chicago). That's not so late for an eight-year old to be up.
