In the end of the film, Regan holds her cochlear implant to a microphone, discovering the creatures' "weakness" when the loud feedback causes them pain. In reality, Cochlear implants do not make sound like a hearing aid would. They take sound and translate it into electrical signals, bypassing the ear entirely and "tricking" the brain into hearing. They do not have a speaker, so there would be no sound.
