When Connie (Gerry's youngest) complains that the water on the Navy ship tastes funny, one of the sailors says that it's jet fuel and another sailor explains that desal (the desalinization plant) has trouble filtering it out. However, a desal plant draws seawater from the ocean and processes it to potable water. It has nothing to do with jet fuel nor does it have any connections to the jet fuel system. Having jet fuel in the potable water system is basically impossible, short of someone deliberately contaminating it. Also, when there is too much water consumption, the system simply runs out of water. It does not get contaminated by other ship systems.
