The film shows Mitsubishi A6M Type Zero fighters present during the Marshalls-Gilberts raids. However, the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service units stationed in the area (Chitose Air Group and Yokohama Air Group) did not possess the new Zero fighters at the time, but operated only the older Mitsubishi A5M Type 96 fighters.
