Mike Locken has plaster full-limb casts cut off his leg and arm. These plaster casts are semi-permanent casts meant to immobilize broken bones for long periods of time, from many weeks to several months. However, Mike's casts also cover surgical wounds from the shattered bones being surgically repaired. These surgical wounds have dressings that need changed regularly, probably daily, and would never be so permanently covered.
