While Billy is aiding the assaulted motorist, a group of children are shown watching, which suggests the children are watching this incident. However, the hill behind the children has a trail leading through some weeds, which is the same hillside trail seen later in the movie behind Gangrene at the Mobil station when the gang confronts Billy and Vicky, which places this hill at a very different location. Possibly this scene of bystanders was shot at the Mobil station as onlookers watched the filming at the Mobil station, possibly as a convenient way to get free footage of watching bystanders.
