About two thirds into the movie, Bramante escorts Pope Julius II to a room in which Raphael is painting The School of Athens. They walk through an open door from an exterior corridor to face the fresco. However, The School of Athens is actually painted on an interior wall in the Stanza della Segnatura across from The Disputation of the Holy Sacrament, which is painted on another interior wall, albeit with a door next to it leading to another room. There is no door leading outside opposite The School of Athens.
