When Frank jumps on the bicycle pedals to break them off the crankset, it would be incredibly difficult to do. The pedal spindle is solid steel of at least 1/2" or 9/16" thick. Yes, they could break, but it would take much more force than he exerted. They would have to rig them to break so easily and cleanly for him to have that happen.
