After the gang visits Vegas a few times, Cole is on to Ben & Kianna, when he 'rewinds the tape' and discovers Kianna signaling to Ben that the table is hot. It is logical that Cole starts / continues the investigation and looks at more old tapes and discovers the whole gang. It is not logical that Cole needs Micky's phone call, in which Micky exposes the gang, in order to decide to pick up Ben and the gang. Micky's phone call to Cole is a plot twist for a thrilling revenge act.
