At the end of the film, Poirot is recruited to investigate a case on the Nile (thus leading into the sequel, Death on the Nile). But the actual "death" in that film doesn't occur until roughly halfway through that movie, and Poirot actually travels to the Nile for an unrelated case, so this makes no sense.
