Based on the light coming through the window of the hotel room, Tommy Turner should've seen that the woman on the bed clearly was not Inga. One could argue that he might not have seen what the viewer could, but one, the voice coming out of the woman was clearly not Inga's, and two, Balbricker, in the same light, was able to see it was Tommy once they stopped after realizing they each called the other a different name, and she removed the covers then pulled his head up to see it was him.
