Norma Jeane is show going to live with Ida and Wayne Bolendar as a teenager. In reality Norma Jeane lived with the Bolendar's as a baby and a young child during the first seven years of her life. In addition those years seemed to have been the most stable of her life and, although strict, the Bolendar's readily loved and wanted to adopt her although both Gladys Baker, and later Grace McKee Goddard, thwarted those attempts. Norma Jeane would maintain contact with the Bolendar's for the remainder of her life.
