When the newsreel truck is trying to leave the navy yard after the bombing, the driver asks the guard "What's going on?" The guard responds, "An explosion somewhere I guess," then lets the truck pass. Given the heightened wartime security at military facilities such as this, the navy yard should have gone on lockdown, with no one allowed in or out. Earlier, however, one of the conspirators tells the other that the ability to pass through the gate after the blast had been "fixed".
