In the second confrontation in a log cabin, John Saxon takes an inordinate amount of time to investigate the sudden and unexpected very loud and obvious gunfire (he clearly isn't merely too frightened by it to approach because he doesn't take cover either), and the under fire Audie Murphy makes no (verbal) attempt to summon him for assistance.
