Later on, Sister Abigail discovers and tells Kate that she researched and discovered that the fire at Esther's old adoptive family's house was indeed arson. If Sister Abigail is able to discover that through her research, she would've easily been able to discover that the entire family had been murdered as well, and likely would've also learned that Esther was responsible, since the Estonian mental hospital was fully aware of the entire incident.
