The USMC aircraft shown don't have the proper US National Insignia. In 1935 the US National Insignia was a small red circle superimposed over a white five-pointed star which in turn was superimposed over a blue circle. Further, USMC airplanes had the Marine emblem: eagle, globe, and anchor prominently displayed on the fuselage.
These aircraft are sporting WWI-era markings.
