Unlike what is depicted, the second stage continued to burn for an extended period of time in order to reach orbit. Also, they did not immediately go to trans-lunar injection (TLI) as depicted, but orbited a while to confirm that all systems were ready for the next step and in order to line up for the TLI so that they could be in the right position at the right moment to start their burn.
