In the scene where the frying pan catches fire Sydney rushes in and uses a Carbon Dioxide extinguisher on the burning cooking oil. Using that type of high pressure extinguisher would blow the burning cooking oil all over the room, spreading the fire. A wet chemical extinguisher should be used on cooking oil fires.
