After Max blows out the "5" candle on the cake Fletcher brings to his school, Fletcher speaks to a mother on the playground and gets slapped. When he asks Max if he "unwished" the wish, Max says "Last night, I really meant it." The candle in that shot has never been lit, but looks burned in the next shot.
