When Sid goes to check on the briefly-unconscious Manny after crossing the lava river, Manny tells Sid that he's standing on his trunk. However, when Sid walked over to him, Manny's trunk was resting on his tusk, out of range from Sid's feet. Sid doesn't walk or even take a step in subsequent shots, so there's no way he could have stepped on Manny's trunk.
