When Marty travels through time and ends up in farmer Peabody's barn, it's still very dark outside. After he drives away from the Peabody farm you can see the start of sunrise on the horizon. A moment later when he screeches to a halt in front of the Lyon Estates sign it's even lighter out, as though the sun is now above the horizon. And just a few seconds later as Marty can't start the car and has to push it behind the sign, the sun is now fully overhead as if it's noon out.
