Near the beginning when Max, Wade, and the woman holding Max's umbrella are walking down the beach Max uses Wade's Colt XSE 1911(single action semi-auto) to shoot the woman for almost dropping the umbrella. After he fires the round the, hammer of the gun is decocked (hammer is down, resting on the pin). There is no decocker on a 1911 and he clearly doesn't it decock it. Once a round is fired the hammer is always back afterwards.
