On the first morning Ceddie wakes up at the castle he dresses in a blue velvet suit. To make it look better he tries on his cap but Mellon the housekeeper talks him into taking it off. When he takes it off he neatens his hair with his hands but the back is still clearly mussed. In the next scene as they both walk of towards the hall the back of his hair is neatly brushed.
