As the American SBDs approach Hiryu to finish her off, the ship is shown with the island superstructure on the port (left) side of the ship. Hiryu's island was on the starboard (right) side. The SBD attack on Hiryu shows many American planes being shot down. In fact, only three out of the twenty-four SBDs were lost in the attack.
