A group of no less than 11 Texas Rangers shows up in response to the kidnapping. This is an unrealistic number.In 1901, state legislation was passed stating that there would be four companies of Rangers comprised of no more than 20 in each company.As the McCandles ranch is supposedly located on the Mexican border. and as the Rangers operated individually rather than in groups and they were not carrying around cellular telephones, the concept that half a company could appear within a day is unrealistic.
