When Gloria and Oscar move, the creature and robot move in exact sync with them on the phone/tablet. Assuming the connection between person and creature/robot to be instant, the live video of the events in Seoul still needs to make its way back to the U.S. Since data can only travel so fast via cable or satellite it would still take at least a fraction of a second, even without the likely routing and processing delays. All combined this would add up to a very noticeable lag between the movements on the playground and the video, maybe about half a second.All these would be considered as a factual mistake if the film was a fantasy film, but is not, not entirely. The rules for Kaiju appearances are not determined by external rules, they are determined by the wishes of Gloria and Oscar. They both set and change the rules of the game when they were kids playing in the playground and they also do that as malfunctioning adults under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs or under the lack of those.
