People on Abydos (where Daniel and soldiers have been teleported) are descendants of those, which was brought from Earth in ancient history to enslave in local mine. For them is Ra their God and Ra doing everything to keep it that way. Therefore is close to impossible that anybody would told them where is Ra come from, his origin and nobody could record that "truth" into underground drawings which Sha'uri shown to Daniel.
