Marina è una giovane contadina le cui visioni romantiche fanno colpo su Leo, un macellaio del Greenwich Village, con il quale convola a nozze. Ritornati al Village, Marina sembra influenzare beneficamente le persone del quartiere le quali sembrano aver bisogno più delle premonizioni di Marina che dei consigli dello psicologo Alex il quale decide di indagare su questo misterioso fenomeno. Dopo il clamoroso successo di "Ghost-Fantasma", Demi Moore bazzica ancora nel mondo del surreale in questa discreta commedia romantica stile anni Quaranta. Accanto a lei il simpatico Jeff Daniels ("Qualcosa di travolgente") nel ruolo, a lui congeniale, dello psicologo.
