Il giovane ingegnere Oliver conosce allo zoo l'affascinante Irene, una ragazza di origine slava. In breve i due si innamorano e si sposano. Tutto filerebbe a meraviglia se non fosse che Irene si rifiuta di baciare il marito perché teme un'antica maledizione della sua terra. Secondo una leggenda infatti le donne come lei si tramutano in pantera ogni volta che baciano un uomo.
