Un compositore intreccia una relazione con la governante, che diventa sempre più gelosa della moglie dell'uomo e dà sfogo con l'uomo al suo cattivo carattere, mostrandosi via via più possessiva. le cose peggiorano quando l'uomo scopre che la ragazza è rimasta incinta. Torturato dal rimorso, finisce con il confessare alla moglie il tradimento e si decide a costringere la giovane ad abortire. La scelta avrà conseguenze terribili sulla salute mentale della ragazza e sul destino della famiglia.
