[he comes out of the bedroom]
Kid Mason:
Guess I don't look so good, do I?
Rose Mason:
[she looks at him]
Oh, well...
Kid Mason:
I went after him too fast. I guess I guessed wrong.
Rose Mason:
So did I, guess wrong. I guessed I'd be wearing that fur coat you been shooting off your head about. And I guessed we'd be moving out of this hole. Wasn't I a dope?
Kid Mason:
You'll get your fur coat, Rose.
Rose Mason:
Sure... if I go out and shoot a couple of cats!
Kid Mason:
My own fault. I didn't fight the way George told me to. Now he's through with me.
Rose Mason:
Oh, you shudda been through with him years ago. You doing all the dirty work, while Regan sat back and grabs off his fifty percent.
Kid Mason:
He didn't take it most of the time. Not when we needed the money at home. He gave up a lot for us.
Rose Mason:
He gave up?
[she scoffs and heads for the door]
Kid Mason:
Rose!
Rose Mason:
I'm leavin'
[the door slams shut]
