[Imhotep watches, screaming, as Pharaoh's bodyguard pours a bucket of skittering scarab beetles over his body]

He was to remain sealed inside his sarcophagus, undead for all of eternity. The Maji would never allow him to be released, for he would arise a walking disease, a plague upon mankind, an unholy flesh eater with a strength of ages, power over the sand, and the glory of invincibility.
