Yeah, say that Katie did do it. Say that she was dissociative at the time, and she didn't realize what she was doing.
Cooper:
No, it's still a form of insanity.
Ellie Harrison:
Yeah, but I don't have a choice. It's hard to base a case on the testimony of one expert witness, and I think that I can make this insanity defense work.
Cooper:
Okay. So why is it bothering you so much?
Ellie Harrison:
What do you mean?
Cooper:
Come on, Ellie. Pleading insanity still means she did it, regardless of the state she was in at the time, and deep down... you believe she's innocent.
Ellie Harrison:
