[heads off]

Beth:
Nick, what is it with you?
Nick:
Once again, your husband fucked up.
Beth:
Oh, spare me the self-pity! What are we gonna do when he comes over tonight? Milk and cookies?
Nick:
It's a long drive, I'm sure he'll be hungry.
Beth:
Do you have to turn everything into a joke?
Nick:
[scoffs]
First, I'm self-pitying. Now I make too many jokes.
Beth:
Nick, I'm trying, I really am. Do you wanna work this out or what?
Nick:
I don't know.
Beth:
You don't know.
Nick:
All right, maybe I don't.
