Sam Johnson:
Oh, I don't wanna sell Old Blue, Miss Ella.
Ella Garth:
I didn't ask ya if you wanted to sell 'im, did I? I say I'm gonna buy him! I'm gonna give ya - oh, I'll give ya $15 for him. Whatsa matter? He ain't worth more'n that, is he?
Sam Johnson:
No, ma'am, he ain't worth nuthin' but I ain't gonna sell 'im.
Ella Garth:
Well ya gotta sell 'im, Sam, 'cause I'm gonna buy 'im. How'm I gonna buy 'im, lessin' you sell 'im?
Sam Johnson:
I don't know, but I ain't gonna sell 'im.
Ella Garth:
Sam Johnson, you're sellin' 'im and that's that!
Sam Johnson:
No ma'am, I ain't gonna sell 'im. Old Blue is mine, and I ain't gonna sell 'im even to you. You ain't got no right to make me.
Ella Garth:
Well now that's true, isn't it Sam? Come to think of it I don't have the right, now do I?
Ella Garth:
You see young man, Sam and me, we don't sell. Sam don't sell his dog and I don't sell my land, that I poured my heart's blood into!
