He does not blame Jacob for leaving. He blames himself, for not bringing him up in a way that would have made him want to stay.
Ellie Harrison:
So then why punish Jacob by banishing him from your home?
Sarah Fitch:
He is not punishing Jacob. He is punishing himself. Aaron has given up the thing he wants more than anything in the world: his son.
