Doug è un corriere del Queens. Mentre lui desidererebbe soltanto un televisore a 70 pollici, la sua casa è invasa da parenti. Carrie, la moglie, un giorno decide di sorprenderlo e gli sistema un impianto a grande schermo così che Doug possa seguire con gli amici le partite in tv. Le cose cambiano quando Arthur, suo suocero, rimasto vedovo da poco, si insedia a casa Hefferman trasformando la sala tv di Doug nella sua stanza da letto…Ma non basta, anche Sara, sorella di Carrie e aspirante attrice, si trasferisce nella casa…
