Despite what has been reported, the crew did not work in heat higher than 110 degrees F. Even in summer, the temperature in Monument Valley rarely exceeds 100 degrees F; the record is 107 degrees F (which is still plenty hot). The highest temperature ever recorded in the United States was in Death Valley in 1913, when it hit 134 degrees F.
