Not counting I segreti di Twin Peaks (1990), this is the only one of David Lynch's films to technically have a follow-up or sequel. 1997's Perdita Durango, directed by Álex De la Iglesia, follows the titular anti-heroine, played by Rosie Perez (portrayed in this film by Isabella Rossellini).
