When Buford is waiting for General Reynolds he is in the white cupola on top of the Seminary; it is a tall structure with a tall base on which one of the planks is broken. It is also very clean and brightly painted. In the next shot the cupola base has shrunk to less than half the original size, there is no broken plank, and the paint is dirty and peeling.
