Nel narrare le avventure di Sinbad il marinaio, che si reca nell'isola di Colossa per liberare la principessa Parissa, sua fidanzata, da un incantesimo che l'ha resa alta come un ditale, il film offre: ciclopi alti 15 metri; un gigantesco uccello bicipite con relativo pulcino grosso come un elefante; una donna serpente con quattro braccia e una coda; un ruscello di vino; un dragone lanciafiamme grande come un dinosauro; un genietto della lampada. Il merito è di Ray Harryhausen, genio dei trucchi e della sua Dyna. La sequenza del duello tra Sinbad e lo scheletro è un brano d'antologia. Per bambini non troppo piccoli.
