Zero Cool - vero nome Dade Murphy - è una leggenda tra i suoi pari. Nel 1988, da solo, ha mandato in tilt 1507 computer di Wall Street creando così un caos finanziario a livello mondiale. A Dade Murphy, undici anni, l'Fbi ha vietato l'uso di qualsiasi tastiera. Anche quella del telefono. Ora sono passati sette lunghi anni... Kate Libby - pseudonimo di Acid Burn - possiede un computer portatile "truccato". Quando Zero Cool si scontra con Acid Burn, la guerra dei sessi si trasferisce sull'hard disc. Ma la situazione cambia completamente quando i due uniscono le proprie risorse per combattere "The Plague", un maestro del sabotaggio informatico ingaggiato da un'azienda colosso che usa il suo straordinario genio per stroncare la concorrenza.
