Douglas, Angie e Ted hanno combattuto insieme durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Si ritrovano dopo dieci anni, ma le amarezze della vita li hanno cambiati. Tramite Douglas, che lavora nella televisione, Ted conosce Jackie, che fa la programmista televisiva. Grazie a uno stratagemma di quest'ultima, Ted viene salvato dalle minacce di un gangster e Douglas si riavvicina alla moglie. Finale rosa per Ted e Jackie.
